History and teachings
It is one of the most outstanding examples of Greater Greece art and architecture, and is one of the main attractions of Sicily. The Valley includes remains of seven temples, all in Doric style. The valley of the Temples was enlisted by UNESCO in the World Heritage in November 1997.

Cross-cultural dimensions
The archeological site is on of the most important testimony of the ancient, classical culture of Sicily. It brings together the temples of gods goddesses as well as the area of the necropolis and sanctuaries outside the walls. It is the symbol of the Greek colonisation of the island, when Agrigento became one of the leading cities of Magna Graecia during the golden age of Ancient Greece.
