Chester Roman Gardens are a small garden and park complex containing and displaying a number of Roman finds and artefacts gathered from various sites in Roman chester.

Cross-cultural dimensions
The gardens display a number of artefacts from a Roman past, highlighting its history and the influences the Roman empire had on towns and cities in the UK such as Chester.

Useful information:
Recommended for anyone interesed in history. Unique. May require some prior knowledge as it is based outdoors. Admission is free and flexible opening times. 15 minute walk from Chester railway station.

All areas are accessible, however due to being an outdoor park some may be more difficult for access than others.

  • The transversal skills and knowledge which can be acquired from this cultural experience are:- Openess and critical thinking: Visitors may note how much influence the Roman empire had on Europe, with its architecture to some aspects of their systems or religion. Skills in acknowledging influences from other cultures and comparing these aspects we still have today can be developed.
