Alcalá del Júcar is a vivid image of a typical village of the Muslim era -narrow streets, typical muslim castle, white houses…- Throught the visit, one can learn about the past of Spain, from the Muslim era to the latest years, as well as enjoy from a natural landscape which shows the importance of the environmental care in order to preserve it

Although the history behind the village is characteristic of Spain, there is one thing that most of the villages of the European Union shares: the phenomena of the depopulation and lost of culture. That is why it’s so important to preserve our villages, and through a sustainable tourism villages can see their economies and population grow

Alcalá del Júcar is a village located in the province of Albacete, close to the frontier with Valencia. Workers and staff could be found on each of the touristic monuments, and also on the office of tourism. It’s not very recommended for disabled, as it’s a village located in a mountain, though it’s accessible. Language is mainly Spanish, but some monuments could be explained in English
